Top 10 Strategy Games of the 21st Century

PC is the land of strategy gaming. That keyboard/mouse combo has no rival in the land of consoles. There are a few games on this list that appear in the Top 10 for the PC so for descriptions and videos go HERE to see them. I've placed box art in their place. If you're interested in Strategy games in the pre-2000 era go HERE

10
Age of Mythology (plus Titans) (2002) - Its like Age of Empires but without the history lesson. Still plenty of strategizing goodness.

9. Command & Conquer: Red Alert 2 (plus Yuri's Revenge) (2000) - It's hard to go wrong with this series. I mean the first level has you fighting over the Pentagon.

8. Empire Earth (2001) - Taking the idea of building through the ages to a new extreme. The only drawback is the chunky models look a little dated after 8 years.

7. Company of Heroes (plus Opposing Fronts) (2006) - Relic showed they knew their history just as well as their Warhammer. Plus the graphics were awesome without taxing the system.

6. Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War (plus expansions) (2004) - So Warhammer finally got a PC game worth playing. And with the multiple expansions (or stand alone expansions) we keep going back to this game for more point capture action.

5. Command & Conquer 3: Tiberium Wars (plus Kane's Wrath) (2007) - The core C&C franchise came back in a surprising way with the pretty new title. The new third faction was a little light but the rest of the game made up for it.

4. World in Conflict (2007) - With amazing graphics, an engaging alternate history plot and unique gameplay World in Conflict is the last great hurrah from developers, Massive. Oh and love them nukes.

3. Rise of Nations (plus Thrones & Patriots) (2003)

2. Warcraft III: Reign of Chaos (plus Frozen Throne)
(2002)

1. Civilization IV (plus expansions)
(2005)
