Top 10 PC Games of the 21st Century

If you want gaming with a little bit of glitz you're in the right spot. If you're more interest in the best the PC had to offer pre-2000 then you better see the Top 10 PC Games of the 20th Century.

10
Rise of Nations (plus Thrones & Patriots) (RTS, 2003) - Taking the Age of Empires style play and mixing it with a Civilization style play made Rise of Nations truely original and truely spectacular.

9. Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare (FPS, 2007) - Dropping the WW2 setting for the first time, CoD4 explodes out of the box with a realistically portrayed linear single-player campaign and an online mode that allows you to unlock more weapons and perks.

8. Far Cry (FPS, 2004) - Massive areas to explore. Open ended missions. Semi-intelligent AI. A single-player FPS dreamscape.

7. Neverwinter Nights (plus expansions) (RPG, 2002) - D&D for dummies. All those dice rolls are there behind the scenes and all you, the player, have to worry about is the awesome amounts of fun.

6. Warcraft III: Reign of Chaos (plus Frozen Throne) (RTS, 2002) - The is RTS perfected. Sporting four completely different factions each with their own storyline, Warcraft 3 is about as intuitive a RTS as you get while still retaining all its depth.

5. Unreal Tournament 2004 (FPS, 2004) - Forget Halo. UT2k3 is ultra fast frag action. Insane power-ups, huge maps, and tons of gameplay variations. Online play at its best.

4. World of Warcraft (plus expansions) (MMORPG, 2004) - No one expected this to take off as strong as it did. But thanks to easy-to-use controls, deep lore, and tons of random drops WoW is THE MMO with 11 million subscribers.

3. Civilization IV (plus expansions) (Turn-Based Strategy, 2005) - I thought Civ 3 was going to be the best in the series. I was wrong. Civ 4 takes it all and puts it in a prettier package and freshens up the combat.

2. Half-Life 2 (plus Orange Box) (FPS, 2004)- Valve continues to push the FPS genre forward with incredible story-telling without reverting to cinematics. Incredible graphics and incredible mods really solidify this game in the top 10.

1. Diablo II (plus Lord of Destruction) (RPG, 2000) - This is a game that is constantly installed on my system and played about every other month or so. No complaints to be had about it.
